Sinopsis

Se reconocen actualmente, en el ámbito mundial, 22 géneros repartidos en dos subfamilias: Ludwigioideae y Onagroideae. La primera incluye a Ludwigia L. y la segunda a los géneros restantes. Onagraceae se divide en seis tribus, con aproximadamente 657 especies (Wagner et al., 2007). Para México se registran 17 géneros, dos de ellos, Megacorax S. González & W.L. Wagner y Xylonagra Donn. Sm. & Rose son endémicos, y 214 especies (Villaseñor, 2016). Revisiones taxonómicas recientes consideran que Calylophus Spach y Gaura L. son sinónimos de Oenothera L., y Diplandra Hook. & Arn., de Lopezia Cav. (Wagner et al., 2007). Esa propuesta se sigue en esta contribución; por lo tanto, para la República Mexicana el número de géneros se reduce a 14. En la región de estudio se registran siete géneros, 32 especies y 10 subespecies.
